New Zealand is one of the most popular developed countries in the world today. Along with being a peaceful country, it has become one of the most attractive places to pursue higher education.
Every year, thousands of migrants come here to apply for higher education. Some even try for teaching jobs. Now, did you hear about the overseas teacher finder's fee for 2025?
It is a special fee payable at schools and other licensed early learning centers that have recruited teachers from overseas. It can be claimed against the recruitment of teachers who are returning from overseas. Plus, it is also intended for overseas-trained teachers coming to New Zealand to teach at the center.
What about the Fee Structure? Does it Fluctuate Every Year?
Eligible schools and learning centers will receive a minimum of NZD 3,450, including GST, to offset recruitment costs. The funding for the overseas teacher finder's fee is processed every year.
Fees are offered across primary, secondary, and early sectors. The fund is allocated on a priority basis. Licensed learning centers can receive one finder's fee per year. There are times when allocations become exhausted.
To keep up with the latest updates, it is best to work with a highly skilled and experienced immigration adviser. It will help you avoid almost all the confusion, thus allowing you to plan properly.
What are the Eligibility Criteria?
Regarding eligibility, only state-integrated schools and learning centers can apply for the overseas teacher finder's fee 2025. It is a must to apply within 3 months of the teacher's start date at the school.
The overseas teacher is supposed to meet the following criteria:
